Dr. Bill Lloyd (Dr. Bill) was for many years the medical expert for the online site Thrive. Trained as a general internist, and still practicing part time in that field, he has developed a particular interest in the area of sexuality and sexually transmitted diseases. A strong believer in the importance of educating people about health and disease, he has been particularly interested in debunking some of the misinformation about sexuality and sexually transmitted diseases that is promulgated by the media. A graduate of the medical school of the University of Chicago, Dr. Bill did his internship and residency training at hospitals in Cincinnati, Chicago and New York, where he now practices.
