Stephen is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, AASECT (American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists) Certified Diplomate of Sex Therapy and Gender Specialist with a full time Private Practice in Monterey, California.Stephen specializes in Sexuality, Sexual Abuse, Gender Issues and Tantra. Stephen has been nationally recognized for his work with male survivors of sexual abuse, receiving honors from NOMSV (National Organization On Male Sexual Victimization), for which he co-chaired the first national retreat for male sexual abuse survivors in 1998. He is also well known for his work with the GLBTI (Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual, Transsexual and Intersex) Communities, seeing patients individually and running specialist groups for same. He is an outspoken advocate for gender, sexuality and non-abuse rights with many media appearances, both on T.V. and radio. He is well published and his work has appeared in such places as Men’s Health Magazine, The Treating Abuse Today Journal, local newspapers, and numerous specialized national newsletters. He is the current AASECT National Membership Committee Chair and a Past-President of the local chapter of CAMFT (California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists). He has also served on the Board of Directors for many non-profit associations, such as T.A.S.K. (Take A Stand for Kids) and the Interfaith Pastoral Counseling Association of Monterey County. Stephen has a long history of teaching human sexuality and sex therapy courses at both colleges and universities. He frequently guest lectures in other professors' classes and provides in-service trainings to many human service agencies. Stephen is well noted for his responsiveness to the community at large.
