Kelly J. Ace, Ph.D., J.D. holds a Master’s degree in Counseling and Psychology, a Ph.D. in Human Sexuality, and a law degree. In addition to being licensed as a professional counselor and an attorney, she is credentialed through the American Board of Sexology, the National Board for Certified Counselors, the American Board of Disability Analysts, and the American Board of Forensic Counselors. Currently, she is affiliated with the Sexual Health Network, Inc. and teaches "Sexuality, Law & Public Policy," in Widener University’s Human Sexuality Education Program. She has also served as a therapist in a rural child advocacy center; a child abuse research assistant; a community-based sexuality consultant in the Philadelphia mental retardation system; and the executive director of a Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program. She has presented nationally and internationally at conferences focusing on child abuse and family violence. She also provides consultation and training for professionals. She is a member of the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, & Therapists (AASECT), the International Society on the Prevention of Child Abuse & Neglect (ISPCAN), the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (APSAC), and the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Gay & Lesbian Rights Committee. Special interests include: sexuality & disability; sexual trauma & healing; problematic sexual behavior; and the intersection of sexuality, law, & public policy. |
